Terms of Service

The service

HoldGuarantee lets a host send a deposit link, place a refundable card authorization in USD through Stripe, release that hold, or capture part of it for a documented damage claim. A hold is not an upfront charge. Funds move only when the host captures.

Your Stripe account

Card authorizations and captures run on the host's Stripe account. HoldGuarantee never receives the raw card number. You are responsible for your Stripe agreement, for telling guests that a refundable hold may be authorized, and for capturing only amounts your booking contract allows.

Guest data

You are the controller of guest names, contact details, and claim evidence you upload. You must have a lawful basis to share that data with us, and you must honor guest requests to access, correct, or delete it. We process it only to operate the deposit you created.

Acceptable use

Do not use a hold to collect rent, a booking fee, or any amount that is not a security deposit described in your terms. Do not capture a claim without evidence you can show the guest and, if asked, the card network. Do not attempt to read another host's data.

Plans and liability

Paid plans are billed in USD through Stripe. You may cancel at the end of the current period from the billing portal. The service is provided as available. We are not liable for a bank's timeline to release a pending authorization, for a guest dispute you cannot document, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
